The Brief

Our client at Driffield Town Council was keen to add some interest to the town’s Christmas event and asked whether we might be able to help. The Christmas lights switch-on event was going to be accompanied by a Victorian Market – could we provide some street theatre?

What We Did

It seemed too good and opportunity not to channel our inner Dickens and we delighted in creating four walkabout characters based on iconic characters from the tale. We prepared a mixture of vignettes based on Scrooge’s journey as well as sideshow games, close up magic and even some carol singing – culminating in Scrooge’s final speech of redemption from the novel!

The Result

We were able to support our client’s aims for the event, surprising audiences of all ages with a joyful and atmospheric encounter as they moved through the market!
