Santa at the Sitwell!

Scarborough Museums Trust 2021

The Brief

Following on from the success of our Fairy Spotters event in the Summer of 2021, we were asked by the Scarborough Museums if we’d create a new Father Christmas event for them at Woodend, their hub of creative arts on the crescent in Scarborough.

What We Did

As always we took inspiration from our surroundings – this time the beautiful an cosy oak-panelled Sitwell Library – which would lend itself beautifully to an intimate audience with Father Christmas. Our Sitwell Santa event saw families meeting Mrs Clause and helping to decorate the library with crafty creations before Santa arrived home after a test ride of the sleigh, ready for some rest and relaxation. Inspired by the Victorian setting we created themed parlour games for families to enjoy playing with Santa before receiving a personal gift from him for each child.

The Result

The event was fully booked and played to most appreciative audiences! The success of the event led on to the Museum Mystery in 2022 – another mission to animate the indoor spaces of Scarborough Art Gallery.
