Illuminated Halloween Trail
Moors Valley Country Park / Culture Creative 2025
The Brief
For the second year of Moors Valley’s illuminated Halloween trail, Culture Creative invited us back to expand the live character interactions and create theatrical family-friendly encounters that would make the most of the forest setting and its unique sense of scale and depth.
What We Did
Building on our experience from the 2024 event we created a charismatic host character, Dracula – Princess of Darkness – who playfully tested the audience’s bravery and charmed them into beginning their journey through the forest.
Visitors also encountered a brand new character unique to the Moors Valley trail – a Plague Doctor with apothecary cart, offering atmospheric storytelling focused on herbs, scents and curious remedies. The Scarecrow animated an abandoned pumpkin patch, using wide forest clearings for highly physical, movement-led performance that could be enjoyed from a distance by families with young children.
The Result
The second year of the trail built on its initial success, with families responding warmly to the expanded character world and playful storytelling!
