MeadFest!
Young People’s Forest Mead / The Woodland Trust 2023
The Brief
Following the success of Festive Forest we were delighted to be involved in another of the Youth Forum’s large scale events for the Forest at Mead, near Heanor in Derbyshire. This time it was for a Summer festival and the performance needed to fit within the themes of the Woodland Trust whilst also being suitable for a festival going audience.
What We Did
We proposed a mash-up of our Woodland Creatures Theatre and our new Rusticus Knights performance. The performance is suitable for a static audience and energetic and visual enough to compete with the festival environment in front of the main stage. Mouse and Fox from the Woodland Creatures Theatre would attempt to become legendary knights of the round table – with the audience’s help of course!
The Result
Mouse and Fox proved a big hit with audiences and the performance sucessfully supported the aims of The Woodland Trust as well as being in harmony with their woodland surroundings.
