Illuminated Halloween Trail

Kew Gardens / Culture Creative 2025

The Brief

Following the continued success of Halloween at Kew, one of London’s most popular family after-dark trails, Kew Gardens and Culture Creative invited us back in 2025 to introduce new characters and fresh interactive moments across the route.

What We Did

We worked with briefs from Culture Creative to create a cast of bold, instantly recognisable characters including a Victorian Spiritualist, and a crazed Circus Ringmaster! A highlight was Frankenstein’s Laboratory where Dr Frankenstein interacted with crackling machinery and lighting effects, while an escaped Monster delivered a theatrical jump-scare moment. All character work was designed to integrate closely with the spectacular props and environments created by Culture Creative.

This year also saw the introduction of our first giant puppet character on a Halloween trail: an illuminated spider with articulated, scuttling legs, operated by our puppeteer team at the end of the neon web tunnel

The Result

The trail attracted record audiences, with many sold-out evenings and excellent feedback from visitors. The expanded range of characters and increased level of live interaction ensured Halloween at Kew felt fresh and surprising for returning guests, reinforcing its status as a standout seasonal event in London.
