Cholmondeley Castle 2025

The Brief

Deva Fest is a large family-friendly music and lifestyle festival held at Cholmondeley Castle, combining live music, food, comedy and activities with a strong focus on outdoor entertainment for all ages. Chester Zoo and the Deva Fest organisers invited us to provide puppeteers to animate a selection of Chester Zoo’s lantern animal puppets throughout the afternoons and evenings of the festival weekend.

What We Did

A team of ten puppeteers camped on site and brought the lantern puppets — including a Snow Leopard and Meerkat — to life as they roamed the festival grounds. The puppets created moments of surprise and interaction among festival-goers, adding a visual and playful layer to the festival atmosphere.

The Result

The lantern puppets became a popular feature of the weekend, delighting visitors and successfully transferring Chester Zoo’s Lanterns and Light characters into a vibrant outdoor festival setting.
