The Brief

We were delighted to be asked back to the Zoo to deliver the interactive puppet experience which is such a beloved part of the Lanterns and Lights Christmas experience! What could we learn from last year and what brand new puppet ideas could we contribute..?

What We Did

Jon was meticulous in his planning which started in early 2024. Having retained the talents of Team Lead, Zoe – they hit the ground running in terms of setting budgets, having feedback discussions with Culture Creative and planning possibilities for new animal experiences in 2024. We were fortunate to retain the fantastic team of dedicated and skilled puppeteers whilst we liaised with the puppet-makers and engaged the services of a fantastic puppet maintenance technician.  The team would be providing a range of different animal characters with lit puppets of varying sizes, construction and operations consistently across the evening – and we needed to plan for every eventuality!

The Result

The team performed fantastically – delighting audiences with a range of animal characters including majestic snow leopards, curious meerkats, playful red pandas and elegant peacocks – and providing a consistently high quality experience throughout the course of the run.
