Time Travelling Adventures!

The Canal & River Trust 2019-2024

The Brief

Following our successful Time Travellers events on the Pocklington Canal in 2017-18 we were contacted by Tom at the Canal & River Trust – could we take what we’d learnt from working in a canal environment and create something transferable to canals in both rural and urban settings in the North of England?

What We Did

We took as inspiration the CRT’s mantra – life is better by water! We created a brand new time travelling adventure in which audiences travel through time to find out what makes canals so special so they can save them from the dreaded Future Planner! Characters included people from the canals’ histories as well as the all-important wild residents of these waterways!

The Result

We were delighted to perform our new adaptable adventure in widely different canal environments at both stand-alone events and as part of festivals, including at Victoria Quay, Sheffield, Leeds Waterfront Festival, on the Chesterfield Canal at Retford, the Rochdale Canal at Hebden Bridge and on the River Ouse Navigation at Naburn, York. In 2022 and 2023 we were delighted to be asked to perform for neuro-diverse children and their families at a special event at Leeds Dock.
