RUSTICUS AT WILLIAM’S DEN!!
“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing” – George Bernard Shaw
We are bursting at the seams to announce our new partnership with the rather wonderful William’s Den, adventure play attraction.
William’s Den is the new kid on the block, having opened to the public in 2017 in a beautiful open site amidst the rolling Wolds, not far from North Cave. This unique play attraction lives and breathes Bernard Shaw’s sentiment – owners Tor and Christian have created a place where children can play inside and outside whatever the weather – where they can ‘run wild and experience the freedom to roam’. The place is terrific for grown-ups too – the food is good, the facilities and staff are top-notch and best of all – grown-ups are actively encouraged to join in – whether its den-building, crawling through tunnels, chalking on outdoor blackboards or whizzing down the zipwire.
And that’s where we come in!!! When Sally, the events manager, contacted us and mentioned that the site had a piece of adjoining woodland, which they were keen to start developing as a place to play – our interest was most definitely piqued! She was offering a chance to work with people who share our philosophy, whilst helping to develop an exciting rural business with sustainability credentials that boast loos powered by a rainwater harvest system..! Plus – a wood to ourselves!
So here we are! You can join us over two Wednesdays this Easter – Wed 28th March and Wed 4 April. We’ll be gathering you up in the grassy amphitheatre and taking you down to the woods to explore the unknown. 28 March sees us on a ‘Journey into the Undergrowth’ and 4 April sees us enter the ‘Magical Forest’ – and we can’t wait! As always with an expedition to the woods – come prepared with wellies, waterproofs and a healthy appetite for adventure! You can find more details on our upcoming events page.
Please note: the woodland at William’s Den is a natural landscape. There are no man-made pathways and underfoot there will be vegetation, trip hazards and plenty of mud. Please come prepared. Consequently, there is very limited access for wheelchair users, buggies or prams, and those who are unsteady on their feet. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact Rusticus on 0845 116 2321 or Rebecca@rusticus.co.uk.
Tickets for the adventures are £4 per person payable either on the day at the Welcome Desk, or in advance online. Full pricing information for William’s Den can be found here: https://williamsden.digitickets.co.uk/category/9920?navItem=6358
